Leslie 'Red' Pendland, 96, of Winchester, Kentucky formerly of Cranston passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 in the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.

He was born on July 5, 1911 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles Pendland and Lucinda Stone Pendland Stacy. Mr. Pendland was a retired farmer and construction worker. He was of the Church of God Faith and enjoyed square dancing, squirrel hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Plank Pendland who passed away on December 17, 1982, one brother, Delbert Pendland, two half brothers, Sam Stacy and Clinton Stacy and one half sister, Marie Paglia.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Haney and her husband, Bob and Susan Bergstedt and her husband, Steve all of Winchester, one sister, Lyda Springer of Lagrange, Indiana, two sisters-in-law, Tina Evans and Volena 'Sissy' Evans both of Morehead, two grandchildren, Robbie Haney and Jenny Noplis and her husband, Anthony and one great-grandson, Jake Noplis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 6, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Ison and Arthur McCleese officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Steve Bergstedt, Bob Haney, Robbie Haney, Anthony Noplis, Tim Plank and Don Evans and honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Buckner, Jack Evans and Joe Planck.
