Flat Gap resident May Colvin Blanton, 76, died April 7 in Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Prestonsburg, after an extended illness. Born March 26, 1907, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of J. H. and Alice Fairchild Colvin. Surviving are her husband, Jim Blanton, who she married February 21, 1923; three daughters, Faye McGee, Columbus, OH, Phyllis Gamble, and Jo Ann Capps, Flat Gap; two brothers, Manford Colvin, East Point and Tom Colvin, Lucasville, OH; two sisters, Sissie Bailey, Jackson, OH and Mollie Hitchcock, Lucasville; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 10 in Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Elders J. T. Bailey and Eual McKenzie officiating. Burial was in Williams Cemetery, Oils Springs.
