Harold Jackson "Jack" Watkins, 79, passed away Friday, May 9, 2003, at his home. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Harold "Jack" Watkins was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Fort Worth to A.J. and Thelma Watkins and spent most of his life in Tarrant County. He retired after 44 years' service with the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a Navy veteran and survivor of World War II, seeing duty in the Caribbean, Atlantic and South Pacific. He was formerly a member of Elks Lodge 399 of Texarkana; past president MCIA, Memphis, Tenn.; and L.O.M.A., Chicago, Ill. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1100; VFW Lodge 2137, Azle; American Legion 549, Burleson; and the Fort Worth Anglers Club. Mr. Watkins graduated from the Texas A&M College system in 1952. In addition to his parents, Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Jackson "Jackie" Watkins Jr. and Rodger Patrick "Pat" Watkins. Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Corinne I. "Connie" Watkins; son, David M. Watkins; daughter, Nancy E. Woody; grandchildren, Candy McBride, Melissa Bentley, Stephanie Kaiser, Mike Watkins and John Watkins; great-grandchildren, Casey, Chantyl and Caitlin McBride, Sydney, Bailey and Tanner Tittle and Jackson Kaiser; brother, C.R. Watkins; and sisters, Gwendolyn Turner and Sandra Roberts.
