Joeretta Butler Garner, age 65, of North Tolliver Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at her residence.

Born March 31, 1953, in Morehead, she was a daughter of the late Ersel and Effie Johnson Butler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Michelle Garner; a grandson, Benjamin Logan Garner; two sisters, Bertiline Short and Lorene Blancutt; and three brothers, Vernon, Elwood, and Wilburt Butler.

Joeretta is survived by her husband, Michael W. Garner; two children, Ben Garner and Angela Nance (Cosper); five grandchildren, Zachary Nance, Megan Loy (Clay), Kelsey Nance, Holly Nance, and Gage Garner; and three great grandchildren, Camron Curtis, Ava and Madilyn Loy, all of Morehead.

Other survivors include one brother, Curtis Butler of Bellefontaine, Ohio; one sister, Arbutis Caudill (John) of Piqua, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a retired coordinator for Rowan County Senior Citizens Center and a former employee of Pathways in Morehead. She enjoyed reading, fishing, and spending time at Cave Run Lake.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.

At Joeretta’s request, there will be no funeral service.
