Magoffin County resident Wayne Griffith, 48, died suddenly Wednesday, 

March 5 at his home in Springfield, OH. Born in Magoffin County on 

November 3, 1920, he was the son of Chester Griffith and the late Plina 

Jayne Griffith. He was employed as a construction worker at the time of 

his death. Other survivors include his wife, the former Nava Harmon; two

 sons, Sam Griffith of Dayton, OH and Larry Griffith of Paintsville, two

 daughters, Vickie Crace of Paintsville and Judy Griffith of Dayton, OH;

 four grandchildren and a sister, Beulah Williams of Paintsville. 

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 8, in the Third 

Street Freewill Baptist Church with Scott Castle and Sterling McCarty 

the officiating ministers. Burial was in the Jayne Cemetery at 

Staffordsville under the direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral
