FLEMINGSBURG | Raymond Douglas (Doug) Bramel, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home.

Doug was born, Dec. 3, 1930, in Wallingford, to the late Lester and Cecial Bramel.

He married the late Polly Marie Coots on May 19, 1967.

He worked for Henkel and McCoy Telephone Co. and later worked for Licking Valley in Flemingsburg. He was a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1959.

Survivors include two brothers, Amos (Helen) Bramel of Flemingsburg, and Clifton (Linda) Bramel of Owingsville; one sister, Ruth (Warner) Manning of Bellville, Ohio; and also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Doug was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Bramel of Lebanon.

Services 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Ray officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wallingford Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roy Bramel Jr., John Bramel, Ronnie Bramel, Paul Bramel, Michael Bramel, Randy Bramel, Dave Manning and Chip Wise. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Glascock, Kenny Souder, Ronnie Knapp, Ronnie Richmond, Kevin Hardymon, and Jason Patton.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Club of Flemingsburg or to the Wallingford Methodist Church.
