Danny Dale Hamilton, Sr., age 61, of Ringos Mills Road, Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born December 5, 1952, at Maxey Flat in Fleming County, a son of the late Andy and Francis Farrow Hamilton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five infant siblings.

Danny is survived by his wife, Dorothy Stidham Hamilton, whom he married June 1, 2002; two sons, Danny Hamilton, Jr., and Derek Howard and wife Lacey, all of Morehead; four daughters, Amanda Hamilton of Morehead, Samantha Gabbard and husband Michael of Mt. Sterling, Christy Hardin and husband Caliem of Morehead, and Amber Burns of Ringos Mills; six grandchildren, MaKayla, Katrina, and Aaron Smith, Addyson Gabbard, Andrew Joseph Hamilton, and Alex Hardin.

Other survivors include one brother, Sonny Hamilton of Ewing; five sisters, Katherine Barber of Hillsboro, Linda Stidham of Mt. Sterling, Beulah Brewer of Jeffersonville, Brenda Williamson and Barb Adams, both of Clearfield; several nieces and nephews; and a longtime family friend, Angie Caudill of Morehead.

Danny retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in 2001 as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed singing and playing Bluegrass and gospel music, gardening, and woodworking. Danny was a lifelong Christian who dedicated his life to serving God and a member of the House of Prayer.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Kenny Cockerham, Bro. James Hickerson, and Bro. Harley Sexton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Prince Cemetery on Maxey Flat.
