Mr. Roger Lee Hilderbrand, age 66, of US 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday evening, March 2, 2014, at the Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

He was born August 17, 1947, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Luster Arnold and Nadine Thompson Helderbrand.

Roger retired from Morehead State University and was a member of the Soldier Church of God for over 30 years. He enjoyed going to church, fishing, hunting, and farming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Helderbrand.

Roger is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice Catron Hilderbrand; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and William Roe of Frankfort, Kentucky, and Jessica and Eric Cooper of Morehead, Kentucky; his first grandchild on the way; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella and Phillip Alexander of Willis, Texas, Hazel and Ed Branham of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Esther and Keith Bays of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Clifford "Tippy" Price and Brother Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Cemetery in Morehead, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, and until the service hour on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

David Burton, Randall Catron, Dennis Catron, Chester Catron, Martin Branham, Brian Burton, and Barry Riley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Talmadge Catron, Denver Collins, Jon Holbrook, Elbert Catron, Wes Black, and Greg Rayburn.
