Mrs. Betty Jean Stamper Helderbrand, age 83, of Knightstown, Indiana, formerly of Camp Dix, Kentucky, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born October 13, 1930, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Carmen Hobbs Stamper.

Betty was a member of the Hilltop Tabernacle in Vanceburg, Kentucky. She loved baking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clesta O. Helderbrand; one son, Gary Ray Helderbrand; one great granddaughter, Alisha Craig; and two sisters, Ruth Fultz and Helen Fultz.

Betty is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Helen Kay and William Elam of Knightstown, Indiana; four sons and five daughters-in-law, Ronald and Gala Helderbrand of Knightstown, Indiana, Randy and Rhonda Helderbrand of Spiceland, Indiana, Kevin and Holly Helderbrand of Knightstown, Indiana, Terry and Lisa Helderbrand of Knightstown, Indiana, and Susie Helderbrand of Fishers, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and ten great, great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, Kentucky, with Brother Danny Blankenship and Brother Jim Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, and until the service hour on Thursday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, 7975 Lower Kinney Road, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
