Flem Blanton age 82, of Prestonsburg, died Monday, April 12, 1999, at Highlands Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Darcas Fairchild and Roscoe Blanton, he was born March 10, 1917, in Kenwood. He was a pipefitter and a member of the United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Sina Rice Blanton; his son, Warren Blanton of Allen; two daughters, Juanita B. McKinney of Louisville and Loretta B. Hunt of South Bend, Indiana; one sister, Gusta McCarty of Oil Springs; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 15, at 11 a.m., in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with ministers Manford Fannin, Jerry Smith and Dewey McCarty officiating.
