Helen Lucille Pugh Black, age 76, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, at her daughter's home in Wallingford.

She was born April 21, 1938, in Fleming County, a daughter of the late George W. and Anita Frances Jefferson Pugh Gulley.

Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Wayne Black; two daughters, Connie Faye Duncan and Vicky Gayle Doyle; one son, Ricky Dale Black; one grandson, David Wayne Duncan; one sister, Nancy Thelma Jimison; and one brother, Sam Pugh.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Jo Basford and husband Jackie of Wallingford and Melinda Lou Fultz and husband Michael of Hillsboro; two sons, Donnie Ray Black and Jeffrey Wayne Black and wife Genie, all of Hillsboro; three sisters, Della Richmond, Flora Charles, and Patty Doyle, all of Fleming County; three brothers, Albert Pugh and Arthur Pugh of Fleming County and Denzil Pugh of Wallingford; 26 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Helen retired from Randall Textron as a machine operator and was a member of the Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
